“Every step forward means leaving something behind”
~ Michael Yapko
Sometimes we need a little help to get ahead. Counselling can help.
Learning to manage our mental health is equally as important as managing our physical health. Just as we need to brush our teeth every day, or work out our bodies to maintain good physical and dental health, we need to practice our mental and emotional skills to stay resilient no matter what life throws our way. A counsellor can help you develop a mental health routine to achieve this.
The reality is that challenges in life are the norm, not the exception, and everyone needs help at times to better manage them. A counsellor is someone who can help when you are feeling stuck. Maybe you have an underlying belief that is holding you back from being all that you can be. Or maybe you are missing a particular skill (e.g. how to establish healthy boundaries in your relationships). Maybe you have trouble managing your emotions and want some practical advice on how to get better at it. Or maybe you’ve been struggling with painful past experiences and don’t know how to move past them.
Stefan aims to be pragmatic, results-oriented, and collaborative. As your counsellor, he is committed to supporting you and challenging you too, so that you can continue to develop in all the ways that are important. Stefan seeks to inspire curiosity, self-awareness, provide information, teach skills, help you move forward and let go of the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours that no longer serve you.
